This 3-hour, semi-private tour is led by a licensed museum guide, exploring Oskar Schindler's famous "Emalia" Factory and the site of the former Jewish ghetto.
The tour offers an excellent opportunity to learn about Kraków's history during World War II. It begins at the former Schindler's Factory, the most-visited museum in Kraków. The museum focuses on the history of Kraków under Nazi occupation from 1939 to 1945, with a special emphasis on the fate of the Jewish population and Schindler’s efforts to save lives. During the tour, your knowledgeable guide will share the stories about the events that shaped the city during the German occupation.
The Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory Museum exhibition provides a comprehensive overview of the experiences of Poles, Germans, and Jews in occupied Kraków, from the outbreak of war to the contentious "liberation" of the city by the Red Army in January 1945. With a solid understanding of the history gained at Schindler's Factory, we will then head to the former Kraków Ghetto, a residential area established for the Jewish population in 1941. Our guide will point out significant locations and historical events in the ghetto discussed in the museum, allowing us to experience them in their authentic context. This combined tour of the "Emalia" Factory and the ghetto helps deepen understanding of the complex fate of Kraków and its inhabitants during World War II.
